MJ, the Australian composer and sound artist behind Those Who Ride With Giants, and I have collaborated on the final component of The Self Reconciliation Project. I spent two weeks at MJ's studio in Western Australia in February 2025, followed by a second visit in September.

Storytelling has become a focus of the project, and I have been exploring the use of different media to tell the story. This experimental collaboration involves combining my writing, poetry and research with ceramic elements and landscape sounds with MJ's compositions, creating a spoken-word soundscape production.

The Self Reconciliation Project examines the history of conflict, abuse and racism between the First Nation people and the coloniser/settlers. As a settler descendant the project examines the journey towards reconcillation through knowledge, understanding and empathy.
